Queratosis actínica en el antebrazo

La exposición repetitiva a la luz ultravioleta de los rayos solares produce lesiones cutáneas acumulativas que se presentan en las áreas expuestas frecuentemente al sol, como el cuero cabelludo (en los individuos calvos), el rostro, la nuca y los antebrazos. Con el transcurso del tiempo el material genético de las células se deteriora irreparablemente. Como resultado aparecen lesiones de queratosis actínica (se pueden apreciar en los antebrazos de este paciente), las cuales más adelante pueden volverse cancerosas.
