Primer plano de queratosis actínica

La queratosis actínica es el resultado de lesiones cutáneas acumulativas causadas por la exposición repetitiva a la luz ultravioleta de los rayos solares. Con el transcurso del tiempo, el material genético de las células se deteriora irreparablemente. Como consecuencia aparecen este tipo de lesiones (como las del paciente de la fotografía), las cuales son precancerosas, es decir, que más tarde pueden tornarse cancerosas.
