Los mareos matutinos usualmente comienzan durante el primer mes de embarazo y se prolongan hasta las semanas 14 y 16, aunque algunas mujeres pueden presentar náuseas y vómitos durante todo el embarazo. Los mareos matutinos son muy comunes y de ninguna manera afectan al bebé.
La causa exacta de los mareos matutinos se desconoce, sin embargo, pueden ser ocasionados ya sea por cambios hormonales o por baja azúcar en la sangre al principio del embarazo. Este problema puede agravarse por el estrés emocional, por los viajes o por la ingestión de ciertos alimentos.
