La vacuna contra la gripe también se puede administrar como aerosol nasal en lugar del método usual de inyección. Ésta es una alternativa para personas sanas de 5 a 49 años que no estén embarazadas, que deseen estar protegidos del virus de la gripe. A diferencia de la vacuna regular, ésta se trata de un virus vivo; por lo tanto, es mejor si la persona que la recibe no tiene contacto cercano con personas que tengan sistemas inmunológicos debilitados.
