La disfunción de la articulación temporomandibular, o ATM, puede ser la causa de la cefalea secundaria. Ésta resulta de trastornos subyacentes que producen dolor como síntoma. La articulación temporomandibular puede doler y volverse disfuncional como resultado de una incorrecta alineación de los dientes y mandíbulas. En casos severos esta articulación puede requerir de una intervención quirúrgica.
