La cardiomiopatía periparto es un trastorno raro en el cual se diagnostica corazón débil durante el último mes de embarazo o en los primeros cinco meses después del parto sin causas identificables para la disfunción del corazón. El músculo cardíaco se ensancha y debilita y no puede bombear la sangre eficientemente. Esta función cardíaca disminuida afecta los pulmones, el hígado y otros sistemas del cuerpo.
