La rabia es una infección viral aguda transmitida al humano por una mordedura de un animal infectado o por la exposición de piel rota a la saliva de éste. La inmunización puede prevenir la enfermedad si se aplica rápido, preferiblemente a las 24 horas pero no después de las 72 horas.
