La amenorrea secundaria es el cese del flujo menstrual por un período de seis meses o más, por causas diferentes a embarazo, lactancia o menopausia. La raíz de este problema puede ser un excesivo aumento o pérdida de peso, ciertos medicamentos y también la ansiedad. El tratamiento puede variar desde modificar la conducta, en caso de exceso de ejercicio, hasta medicamentos o cirugía.
