Efectos secundarios:

Una deficiencia de niacina causa pelagra y los síntomas son, entre otros:

  • Problemas digestivos.
  • Inflamación de la piel.
  • Deterioro mental.

Las dosis altas de niacina pueden causar:

Incluso dosis normales pueden estar asociadas con enrojecimiento de la piel. Las nuevas formas del ácido nicotínico reducen este efecto secundario. La nicotinamida no causa estos efectos secundarios.
