Definición:

Son quistes blanquecinos y amarillentos que se forman en las encías y en el paladar de un bebé recién nacido.

Las perlas de Epstein se presentan sólo en los neonatos, son muy comunes y se observan en aproximadamente el 80% de ellos. Las perlas son quistes llenos de proteína y cuando se localizan en las encías, a veces, se parecen a los dientes en erupción. La afección es inofensiva, aunque algunas veces causa preocupación a las madres primerizas.
