Hematoma septal - Información general

Definición:

Es una contusión o sangrado dentro del tabique nasal, el cual separa las dos fosas nasales.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Una nariz rota o cualquier lesión del tejido blando en el área pueden causar un hematoma septal. Esto puede ocurrir más a menudo en los niños porque sus tabiques son más gruesos y tienen un revestimiento más flexible que cubre el área. Una lesión rompe los vasos sanguíneos en el área, permitiendo la acumulación de líquido y sangre bajo el revestimiento.
