Cifosis - Síntomas

Nombres alternativos

Encorvadura de la espalda; Enfermedad de Scheuermann; Postura jorobada; Cifosis postural

Síntomas:

  • Dolor de espalda leve
  • Fatiga
  • Sensibilidad y rigidez en la columna
  • Apariencia redondeada de la espalda
  • Dificultad para respirar (en los casos severos)

Signos y exámenes:

El examen físico por parte del médico confirma la curvatura anormal de la columna y con el examen también se busca cualquier cambio neurológico (debilidad, parálisis o cambios en la sensibilidad) por debajo del nivel de la curva.

Se toman radiografías de la columna para documentar la gravedad de la curva y para permitir que se lleven a cabo mediciones en serie.

Ocasionalmente se pueden utilizar pruebas de la función pulmonar para evaluar si la cifosis está afectando la respiración.

Se puede ordenar una IRM si hay cualquier duda de la presencia de un tumor, infección o síntomas neurológicos.
