Macroamilasemia - Toda la información

Definición:

Es la acumulación de una molécula, llamada macroamilasa, en la sangre.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La macroamilasa es una molécula que consiste en una enzima, llamada amilasa, ligada a una proteína. Dado que es relativamente grande, la macroamilasa es filtrada muy lentamente desde la sangre por medio de los riñones.

La macroamilasemia ha sido asociada con:

  • Enfermedad celíaca
  • Colitis ulcerativa
  • Artritis reumatoidea
  • Linfoma
  • Infección por VIH
  • Gammapatía monoclonal

Síntomas:

La macroamilasemia no causa síntomas.

Signos y exámenes:

La macroamilasemia ocasiona una lectura de niveles de amilasa en sangre alta y se puede confundir con la pancreatitis aguda, que también ocasiona niveles altos de amilasa en la sangre.

La macroamilasemia se puede diagnosticar midiendo los niveles de amilasa en la orina, los cuales serían bajos, en contraste con la pancreatitis aguda, en la cual los niveles de amilasa en la orina serán altos.
