Agorafobia - Overview

Definición:

Es un miedo a los lugares en donde podría ser posible no encontrar ayuda. Generalmente implica miedo a las multitudes, los puentes o a estar solo en espacios abiertos.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La agorafobia a menudo se presenta acompañada de otro trastorno de ansiedad, como el trastorno de pánico o una fobia específica. Si ocurre con un trastorno de pánico, el comienzo se da por lo general a los 20 años de edad y afecta con mayor frecuencia a las mujeres que a los hombres.
