Larva migratoria visceral - Symptom

Toxocariasis; Toxocarosis visceral; Toxocarosis ocular (larva migratoria ocular)

Síntomas:

Las infecciones leves pueden ser asintomáticas, pero las infecciones más graves pueden causar los siguientes síntomas:

  • Dolor abdominal
  • Tos
  • Fiebre
  • Irritabilidad
  • Prurito cutáneo (urticaria)
  • Dificultad para respirar
  • Sibilancias

En caso de producirse una infección ocular (llamada larva migratoria ocular), se pueden presentar síntomas como ojos bizcos (estrabismo) y pérdida de la visión.

Signos y exámenes:

Si usted presenta la larva migratoria visceral, puede tener niveles de glóbulos blancos superiores a lo normal.

Las personas con esta afección también pueden tener signos de inflamación del hígado, erupción cutánea y problemas pulmonares u oculares.

Los exámenes pueden abarcar:

  • Hemograma completo con fórmula leucocitaria.
  • Exámenes de sangre para detectar anticuerpos contra Toxocara.
