Aire alrededor de los pulmones; Aire fuera de los pulmones

Definición:

Es la acumulación de aire o gas en el espacio alrededor de los pulmones.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

El neumotórax puede resultar de un traumatismo torácico, del exceso de presión en los pulmones o de una enfermedad pulmonar, como EPOC, asma, fibrosis quística, tuberculosis o tos ferina. En algunos casos, la causa no es clara.
