Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.
This medicine is for use on the skin only. Do not get it in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Do not use it on skin areas that have cuts or scrapes. If it does get on these areas, rinse it off right away.
Wash your hands with soap and water before and after using this medicine.
Clean the affected skin area just before using this medicine. A nurse or other health caregiver will show you what to use and how to clean your wound. Do not use hydrogen peroxide to clean your wound.
Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area. Cover the area as directed.
Before using a new spray bottle, prime the pump by holding the spray upright directly over the wound, and pumping 6 to 8 times.
Once the spray pump has been primed, hold the bottle about 2 to 3 inches from your wound to apply. Use even, firm, and equal pressure each time you pump the bottle. Completely cover your wound site with the medicine. You should not be able to see the wound under the medicine. Then, follow your doctor's directions for dressing (covering) the wound.
If a dose is missed:
If you miss a dose or forget to use your medicine, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
Store this medicine at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Keep the container opening covered and clean when you are not using it. Store the spray upright.
Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way to dispose of the used medicine container and any leftover medicine after you have finished your treatment. You will also need to throw away old medicine after the expiration date has passed.
Keep all medicine away from children and never share your medicine with anyone.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
Do not use any medicine that contains lead, silver, or mercury on your wound. Do not use cosmetics or other skin care products on the treated skin areas.
