Introduction:

Adenine, Inosine, Sodium Phosphate, Dibasic (SOE-dee-um FOS-fate, dye-BAY-sik), Sodium Phosphate, Monobasic (SOE-dee-um FOS-fate, mono-BAY-sik), Sodium Pyruvate

This medicine is mixed with red blood cells that have been stored to "freshen" them for use. This helps the blood deliver more oxygen to the body after a blood transfusion.

When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:

You should not receive this medicine as an injection. It is only for mixing with blood cells before they are transfused.

How to Use This Medicine:

Injectable

  • Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given. This medicine is given through a needle placed in one of your veins.
  • A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine.
